On Sunday, June 13, the Men's Club at Silver Lake Country Club hosted its final round of the Match Play Club Championship. It was also a two-man Pick Your Partner event, as well as the closest to the pin contest on 18. The winner of the closest to the pin received a "Hummer for a Weekend," compliments of Rizza Cadillac and Hummer of Orland Park.
The winner was Larry Woltzen, who hit the shot to 12 feet on the 18th hole, and with the resulting birdie putt, won the Club Championship for the "A" Class handicap flight.

What better way to celebrate "Octoberfest" than with a fabulous golf outing? On October 18th, that was the case at Silver Lake CC. Golf, drink and good food were on the menu for the 1st annual Octoberfest outing. Silver Lake provided many event prizes but one of the best was a "Hummer for a weekend", donated by Rizza Hummer of Orland Park. The prize was won by John Sequin by being closest to the pin on 18 and he receives the use of a Hummer for a weekend. Great fun was had by all and next year's outing is already in the planning stages", according to Bert Coghill, one of the owners of Silver Lake. |
